Right before Springsteen played the Muse anti-nuclear benefit concerts Joel was asked by Springsteen to cruise around to all the Boss’ old haunts in Jersey. They were tooling around at night in Springsteen's black convertible Corvette. Joel was one of the very few in the studio during the sessions after "Darkness of the Edge of Town." In fact, he was in the room when the final take of “The River” was nailed by The E Street Band. 

Then he took the band out on the street for this never-before-seen shot.
